During my music education in Sweden, I got the enormous privilege to visit
The Gambia! Learning to play a little bit Kora (traditional instrument for the Mandinca tribe), dancing the traditional ways of the Wolof (while att the same time trying to decipher the rhythmic complexity in the Sabar drums)! Absolutely amazing! Lots of triplets in their rhythms, quite contrary & rare I think in the western dance scene.
This inspired me!
