Description

In the midst of a quite intense period of solar plasma flares, the VLF was ticking a bit like a Geiger counter and the density and velocity of pings and pops forms the polymorphous particulate ponttillist background texture. Shortwave signal and long wave signals danced in a peculiar and musically malleable manner. Environmental sounds drawn from open microphones. Guitar and synth dubbed later. I will eventually publish all the raw recordings in one Bandcamp album since it's all very rich and strange with details but at 96 minutes and 78 minutes it's a overmuch for inclusion on SoundCloud. My title is taken from a geophysicist's description of the material that comes to influence our planet's magnetosphere in greater abundance during such a barage of coronal mass ejections as our sun has been releasing so copiously in the last few weeks.
