Much of Philosophy & Mathematics, it seems to me, can be explored in Music. But only if we take movement--not simply sound--as primary. There is, of course, nothing new in this idea. It is just that the fragmentation so characteristic of Western Culture shut the door long ago on this possibility. Thankfully, the 3-fold Energy, Digital & Consciousness Revolutions have cracked the door open again. The secrets to be revealed may be far greater than we can at present imagine.
RELEVANCE & THE RESONANCE OF BELLS…
Relevance is a form of resonance. Our seeing draws out differences from the background complexity of "what is," tapping them like bells with the mind. These differences then "ring out" in ever-widening circles of relationship, like nested water drops expanding on the surface of a quiet pond. We sense a movement of meaning expanding from the narrow confines of objective reality and explicit thought, to the highly implicit vastly wider and more subtle circles of truth, of that which is beyond all measure, of the unknown. At a certain point, like a bell that cracks as it rings, we sense that the resonance stops. That's where the relevance ends. NOTE, that the really good ideas just keep going.

was composed. By and large, I lost interest in the new music of performed in concert halls world-wide a long time ago. Simply because the sounds we hear there, by and large, have little resonance with nature and wildness, this wonder of the pathless land of the unknown. Yes, broken bells, and the lack of relevance, indeed.
