THINK OF A RIVER is a through-composed set of 11 pieces, all but one of which is from 2018. There are, I think, about seven or eight different species of Poetry & Music here, which naturally makes the contrast between them important. All of the pieces emerge out of my concern for the confluence of movement, energy, and meaning in living sound, as well as the music's felt resonance with what I see as the "repertoire of metaphysical urgencies" of the present moment.
