William Walker Atkinson (1862-1932) was a prolific author and publisher of New Thought texts.
This text is unusual in Atkinson's oeuvre, in that it contains no discussion of spiritual or metaphysical topics. In clear, unambiguous language, the author commences with a definition of reasoning and proceeds with an examination of the various forms in which it can be applied. He discusses the steps involved in the formation and testing of hypotheses and concludes with a discussion of common fallacies.
Although Atkinson was neither a philosopher nor a scientist, this text is a well-structured and accessible introduction to the application of the principles of logic.
