The Nut-Brown Maid
The Cornish author, critic and anthologist Arthur Quiller-Couch is perhaps best known for editing The Oxford Book of English Verse, but he also compiled other volumes of English literature. This poem, taken from The Oxford Book of Ballads, tells the tale of the nut-brown maid and the outlaw she loves.
