O Manaro Lāge Nā
o manaro lāge nā sakhīrī mero śyāma manaro lāge nā
(Refrain)
Rādhā is telling Her sakhīs: My mind is unhappy because Śyāma is not here.
sunī-sunī lāge sārī braja kī nagarī
kunja galī sunī śyāma binā mana re lāge nā
The whole village of Vraja is empty. Without Śyāma the kunjas and lanes are
empty.
kaun sunāve mohe mītī-mītī bansuri
kaun nacāve mohe śyāma bīna mana re lāge nā
Who will play the flute so sweetly? Without Śyāma here who will inspire us to
dance?
gvāla-bāla sab taṛafa rahe hai
tṛna nahī toḍe gave śyāma binā mana re lāge nā
Without Śyāma all the cowherd boys are restless, and the cows are not eating grass.
paniyā bharana jab jāo yamunā pe
pan-ghāṭa suno lāge śyāma binā mana re lāge nā
I go to Yamunā to take water, but without Śyāma the pan-ghāṭa (where the
villagers draw their water) is empty.
giridhārī mose rutho re savariyā
chena nā abet ere darasa śyāma binā mana re lge nā
Perhaps Giridhāri Kṛṣṇa is in a sulky mood. If I don’t see You for one second, I go mad. Without Śyāma my mind is not interested in anything.
