I split the original track in Moises. It gave me these stems; Drums, Bass, Vocal, Other. I used the vocal stem, and mixed it with a new vocoder track using the original "Other" stem as the carrier signal. I recreated the bassline note-for-note for the synth bass, replaced the drums and played in new guitar parts.
