[BIRDFEED EXCLUSIVE] Buja debuts on the Feed with “Honey Trap”!

How long have you been creating music?
My musical journey began at age 10 at the conservatory, where I studied guitar, piano and classical theory. At 15, I discovered electronic music and started crafting my own beats and exploring production. Today, those eight years of technical training form the foundation of my tracks, blending classical discipline with the freedom of the dance floor.

What do you use to make your tracks?
I work in Ableton Live as my main tool, but my conservatory background always shows up—sometimes I record acoustic guitar or piano and turn those takes into samples. I enjoy experimenting with VST synth plugins and applying mixing techniques I learned from tech‑house masters. I always bring a distinct Brazilian groove to the low end.

How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
I discovered Dirtybird at 16 while researching authentic tech house. A friend shared a Claude VonStroke set with me, and the mix of gritty grooves and humor hooked me. I knew right away that was the vibe I wanted in my own productions.

Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
Claude VonStroke, without question. He’s a true pioneer who keeps pushing the scene forward. I imagine us blending Brazilian bass lines with his playful style—an intense crossover.

If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
From the Conservatory to Chaos: The Low‑BPM Revolution. It captures my path from classical studies to igniting dance floors.

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Rock in Rio 2022. Watching Alok command 100,000 people revealed music’s power to connect everyone in the crowd. That’s when I knew I wanted to be on stage.

If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
To late‑’80s Berlin, right around the fall of the Wall and the birth of techno. I’d experience those first secret‑gallery raves where music itself was a cultural uprising.

What species of bird best describes you and why?
An owl—both for its nocturnal nature and mindset. By day, I stay in the studio gathering knowledge; by night, I hunt for opportunities, references and connections that only the dark reveals.

What does Dirtybird mean to you?
Dirtybird stands for community and boldness. It’s a family unafraid to mix humor with deep grooves—just like my approach: borderless music made with genuine intent. Being part of it feels like coming home, and the journey is only beginning.
