Wednesday night, President Biden gave an Oval Office address - his first on-camera remarks to the nation since announcing his decision *not* to run for re-election on Sunday. Biden said it was time to "pass the torch" to a new generation of leadership, and praised Vice President Kamala Harris - who he'd endorsed on Sunday. Though the President did not mention Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump by name, Biden said democracy was at stake in 2024 - and that in the US, "kings and dictators do not rule... the people do," and "history is in your hands." Biden highlighted what he believes are his administration's greatest achievements - such as lowering the racial wealth gap - and discussed what he plans to do in his remaining 6 months - such as pushing for Supreme Court reform
