Matt Gagnon has participated in the clam shucking contest annually since 2016, except for COVID. This year, he missed the contest due to travel issues, leading his son, Alec, to step in. Alec, with no prior experience, joined Danny Martignetti and finished third. Matt recounted his challenging journey, including multiple flight delays and cancellations. Despite the difficulties, Alec managed to shuck 15 clams. The contest had only three teams due to last-minute registrations. The experience was seen as a success, with plans for future participation.
