Having launched 2017 with his 'Human Construct' EP, Coherent Mathematical Systems boss Matt Holliday returns home with his new single 'Divide & Rule' including an original mix and the awakened remix.
The original mix is unique in style, very dark with distorted beats and a haunting theme to take you on a journey, as the track is constantly building and changing until it almost reaches it's peak. After dropping into a lush breakdown with some new elemets, the track explodes back into the darkness, keeping you hooked once again until the track builds up to it's highest moment. A track that will please many DJ's, especially ones who are looking for something different.
The awakened remix is a pumping progressive trance piece of art. It builds with a pumping bassline, tribal drums and some killer effects before a new melody enters the build with some bassline changes to take you a little higher. There are moments of total chaos, and complete darkness which transform into lush epich highs. The breakdown is haunting, melodic, deep and dark but barely prepares you for the drop where the track completely explodes into what could only be described as an anthem.
Overall this is another excellent release from Matt who continues to surprise us with his creativity and diversity. Both tracks will sit nicely in any progressive house / trance DJ's collection.
