To conclude our series on the I Am statements of Jesus, Beccy Pitts shares about Jesus, the Vine (John 15). In this message, Beccy unpacks the role of the vine, drawing parallels with the role that Jesus can play in our lives. Firstly, the vine sustains. The vine distributes water and nutrients to the rest of the plant which is exactly what Jesus does when he meets our needs, particularly when we are thirsty and in need of refreshment. Secondly, the vine strengthens and brings stability, much like Jesus who is our foundation, particularly in times of shaking. Thirdly, the vine enables growth. Jesus ensures that we are fruitful people; people who live out the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5) and this fruit is not just for our benefit but to benefit others too. Finally, the vine unites. We may all be different, but we are all connected by Jesus, which is great encouragement because it means that we are all significant!
