Continuing with our ONE series about unity, Ben Hodgson preached a message on financial unity titled, 'mONEy'. Acts 4:32 says that, "All the believers were ONE in heart and mind" and those early disciples, "shared everything they had." How can we - the 21st Century Church - be unified given that we are all so different in our attitudes, preferences and skillsets towards money? In this message, Ben uses the words of Jesus in Matthew 6 to highlight 3 areas in which we can all agree. Firstly, we can all use our finances to benefit the future, including the sustainability of planet earth, saving for a rainy day and for future expenses and we can even do things that will last for eternity, such as praying for someone. The second thing we can agree on is that we can all give to others and finally that we can all give back to God, who is the owner and Master of all things! When we realise that everything belongs to God, it makes giving back to Him far easier!
