As part of our summer Bible Characters series, Ethan Barrett brought a message on 'The disciple whom Jesus loved'. The bible shows that John chose to focus his identity solely on the love of Jesus in his writing about himself, and chose the title, 'the Disciple whom Jesus loved' above using his own name. Focusing on the love of God is fundamental to our faith and identity, grounding ourselves in God alone and not our mistakes and failings. When we grasp God's love, it fulfils and completes our life. It is important to actively remind ourselves that we are loved and share it with others.
