Description

Paul Jukes speaks on the topic of breaking the chains of unbelief. He began by talking about the disappointments and circumstances in life that cause us to doubt and have unbelief. Looking at Mark 11, in which Jesus bizarrely curses an unfruitful fig tree, Paul explains that in order to break the chain of unbelief, we need to firstly have the faith of God, which is a more accurate translation of verse 9, "have faith in God." Like the disciples, who heard Jesus speak to the fig tree, we need to know the difference in what we believe and what we hear as there can often be a gap. Secondly, we are sustained by Grace, which is a gift given to us by God! Finally, and most importantly, we need to know how to pray and Paul gives some useful tips on how to pray effectively. He uses the passage in Mark 11 to emphasise the importance of faith and how unbelief can have a huge impact on our relationship with God. Therefore put yourself in good stead with God knowing that once you have been able to do that, your relationship with God is good, or in Paul's own words, "You and God are good!"
