In a message titled, 'Follow me', Sara Jukes asks the question, how do we stand on God's promises when our circumstances don't always match? The answer is to follow Jesus! In the first part of the message Sara discusses 3 hang-ups that can stop us following Jesus. The first being, disagreements and beliefs. When disagreements occur, we need to unify with each other, just as Jesus did. To help us do this, Ephesians 4 instructs us to be forgiving, kind and tender-hearted to one another. The second hang-up is the feeling that there is no place for me when, in fact, there is a place for everyone in the house of God! Finally, attachments can prevent us from following Jesus. Like the Rich Young Ruler in Matthew 19, we can hold onto things that hinder our walk with God such as fear, offence and shame; all things that Jesus forgave us at the cross! In the second half of the message Sara talked about what we must do to keep on following Jesus such as be in close proximity, much like the disciples were. Secondly, we should ensure that our priorities and perspective is always Jesus. Finally, we need to recognise that we have plenty. The disciples knew they had plenty because they had the correct perspective, to reach a broken and lost world.
