In the first of our Christmas series, Sara Jukes looks at the Shepherds in Luke 2 8:20. Even though they were known as ‘people of the dirt’ they were the first people that God invited to see his newborn son. Sara highlights that regardless of who you are and what you’ve done, God desires a relationship with you. Sara highlights 5 things about the Shepherds:
1. The shepherds were awake- are we awake to hear what Jesus is saying in your life?
2. The Shepherds let Jesus define their emotions - we need to acknowledge our feelings and then hand them over to God to work with them
3. The Shepherds pursued Jesus- are you pursuing Jesus?
4. The Shepherds bought confirmation- are you encouraging people in their hard times?
5. The shepherds responded- how are you responding to Jesus today?
