Danish producer and DJ Jesper Mygind aka C.M. Art marks a new chapter in his career this September with his debut album ‘Planet Uthboar’, inaugurating his new Uthboar imprint. Uthboar is being launched to showcase another side of the club music coming out of
Copenhagen where Mygind is based, more lo-fi, slower and a bit more experimental, with Planet Uthboar dropping as the first release.
Jesper tells us ‘’I’m very inspired by the whole cassette culture from the late 80’s where mainly experimental artists with a do-it-yourself approach recorded music in their living room and simply released it on tape to the cassette community. For me this shows that music doesn’t have to be that serious and ‘perfect’ all the time, and that you can record interesting musicright out of your living room on crappy gear.’’
UTHBOAR : ‘’Planet Uthboar is a conceptual album that takes the listener on a journey to the fictive planet of Uthboar, where two heroes are on a quest to stop the supervillain Art from exterminating every living being on the planet. The album is inspired by old comics and 70’s sci-fi animation movies, so think of a kind of H.G. Wells dark sci-fi style mixed with lo-fi house and electro - all recorded straight to an old dusty cassette recorder!’’
