Ernest & Robbiəjn – ‘’Social Underground’s Ernest—renowned for his unforgettable sunrise sets at what was arguably Birmingham’s best underground night of the 2010s—joins forces with Robbie Nash (Ecke Rec / kəyk / Escap Verte) under his Robbiejn alias. Though they shared the same stomping grounds in Birmingham, the UK’s ‘second city’, often attending the same raves, they never truly crossed paths. It wasn’t until Ernest moved to Berlin that they finally linked up, leading to an impromptu studio jam—and just like that, Second City Audio was born.
Their first collaboration nods its head towards a certain respect and appreciation for deep rolling stripped back cuts that truly represent an hybrid ‘Berlin-London sound’, whilst drawing from shared upbringings across a wide impetus of UK music, with the A2 in particular on this release taking many twists and turns. Absolutely wicked duties come from ‘The Gospel According To Victor’ label founder Tro on the remix.
