Kokong Festival Vol.1 distills the transformative spirit of Åland’s new multidisciplinary gathering into four fresh cuts. Set against the idyllic backdrop of the Åland Islands – sometimes called the Ibiza of the Baltic – Kokong Festival (August 1-2, 2025) is a space for experimental electronic and electroacoustic exploration. This inaugural sampler offers a taste of the sonic journey awaiting attendees inside the festival’s iconic dome, where music, performance, and community intertwine.
The compilation brings together leading voices in Nordic electronic music: FISK, the analog techno alias of Finnish producer and Elektron product specialist Daniel Troberg; the exploratory textures of Andreas Tilliander and jazz trumpeter Goran Kajfeš; the murky Baltic atmospheres of Havsmörker; and the pulsating club energy of Norwegian techno veteran Mental Overdrive. Together, these four pieces chart a course from introspective ambience to dancefloor transcendence, showcasing the diversity and depth at the heart of Kokong.
