THE MAGIC MOVEMENT : ‘’The Magic Movement is excited to present the first remix EP of Noema’s new album, ONE - featuring five fantastic remixes by Kalabrese, Lauer, Mehmet Aslan, Panthera Krause, and Shubostar. Ranging from Nu-Disco, Funky Electronic Breakbeats, to Indie Dance, these tracks will surely have you dancing your way into new dimensions.
In the first track, Kalabrese brings us a magnificent re-jam adding funky keyboards, live drums and his trademark vocals on top of the original. Next, Lauer offers a hypnotic leftfield Disco tune, featuring a bubbly arpeggio synth, live drums and a catchy melody! Following this, Mehmet Aslan’s remix is filled with rhythmic textures, playful melodies, and funky electro breakbeats. Panthera Krause’s remix is an energetic dance track driven by mind-bending arpeggiators and syncopated chords. And lastly Shubostar brings her infectious and groovy “cosmic disco” sound to the funky and absurd universe created by Noema.
The original piece ONE is an “interactive performance concert” that includes original music, interactive choreography and stage design, theater, costumes, videos and remixes. Sun Ra meets Steve Reich meets Larry Levan - imagine it as a “happening” from the 70s. Over the past year and half, Noema has created an impressive cosmos: He has written and recorded the music with a small orchestra, but also created the story, texts, costumes, graphics, videos, choreography, and showed an early experimental version at Garbicz Festival 2022.
In ONE, Noema tells the story of his space explorations, in which he manifests as four Interdimensional Space Voyagers. Because humanity has lost their ability to play and connect with each other, these entities became trapped in our dimension and now put on performances to re-power their portal, so that we can all be interdimensional again!
During the performance five dancers invite up to 120 people from the audience to join the action.
As the founder of The Magic Movement, Noema is a pioneer in the electronic and downtempo scene in Europe. As co-producer and A&R he released iconic records of artists such as Xique-Xique, Carrot Green, Kermesse and discovered artists like Oceanvs Orientalis.
DJing since 1997, and being former resident DJ in the legendary Berlin Club institution Wilde Renate for a decade, Noema has been touring the world with his eclectic and stunning DJ sets just as long. His extended sets go up to 10 hours and are indeed the stuff of legends.
In his studio work, he has collaborated with electronic music heavy weights like Apparat, Dj Dixon and Grammy winners Basement Jaxx.
