Dan @djschmultz McHugh was part of our @fantastic-voyage-music crew. As I came into the cohort late, I only got to know him briefly before he was taken away from us by cancer. He inspired us with his creativity, talent, positivity, silliness, and courage. Many producers got over our fear of using our own voices in our tracks because of him. This just released compilation features a slew of amazing work across genres that speak to how he inspired us in different ways.
For my track, "Dup", it was drawing on the silliness. I was in a creative rut when I decided I had had enough of our dog Appa's squeaky pig sounds. So I took it, sampled it, and made it a central piece of this track. I had a stupid grin the entire time I was making the track.
I think it's fitting that this also marks my first release on Spotify and Beatport. Go check out the whole compilation. There's a LOT of good stuff there.
