Ilana’s guest is Simon Knott, founding director of BKK Architects. Simon has been involved in some of the most complex architectural and urban design projects undertaken in Victoria in the last decade, requiring considerable leadership and management skills to coordinate large subconsultant teams, navigate a myriad economic, social, cultural and political issues and successfully liaise with multiparty, cross-agency stakeholders to deliver high quality, world-leading projects. These have involved in-depth consultation with Indigenous organisations, including the Wurundjeri Council and the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation.
Simon has worked extensively in design advocacy. This has been through his many roles in broadcast and print media, most notably as a member of 3RRR's The Architects radio show. He is a founding member of the Shire of Mornington Design Advisory Panel (DAP) and has been a contributing member for 15 years continuously and is currently a member of the OVGA Design Review Panel. Simon is also an elected member of the AIA National Council, The Chair of the AIA Vic Chapter Awards Committee and very active in other professional bodies.
