Listen

Description

A new exhibition in the UC Santa Barbara Library showcases Isla Vista over the years. Lead curator, Danelle Moon, takes listeners on a tour of the exhibit - spanning from the civil unrest of 1970 which went on for months and included the burning of the Bank of America building, to today - with an historic vote taking place which could give Isla Vistans more control over their community.

Also, KCSB's Lisa Osborn speaks with Professor Alice O'Connor, UCSB History professor, about a talk she is giving called "Democracy Matters: The Road to Self-Governance in Isla Vista."

Then, Josh Ortiz with The Daily Nexus weighs in on some of the important items Isla Vista voters will be deciding upon when they cast ballots for the November 8th election.
