Description

While overfishing is known to deplete fishing populations, there is now another known factor. A new study from UCSB has found that the Northern Atlantic Oscillation, also known as NAO, has contributed to the decline of cod in the Gulf of Maine cod fishery. KCSB’s Kendra Lee speaks with Kyle Meng, an Assistant Professor at UCSB in the Bren School and Economics Department, about the recent trend in fisheries and the results from his study.
