High School students recently got a reality-check on the high cost of war during a lunchtime event at Santa Barbara High School. A display of gravestones, commemorating teen service members killed in action in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, dotted a sprawling lawn.
The event has been sponsored by Truth in Recruitment and Santa Barbara High School’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance club, with participation by members of Veterans for Peace, the SBHS Associated Student Body, parents, and staff. KCSB's Nkechi Ikem has more on the story.
