Growing up, many students are pushed towards STEM fields because it is seen as a straightforward path leading to job security. Alan Liu, Professor of English at UC Santa Barbara, is working to prove ideas about the divide between STEM fields and the humanities wrong. Through his advocacy initiative, 4Humanities, Alan is highlighting the importance of the humanities one social media outlet at a time. KCSB's Kendra Lee spoke with Professor Alan Liu to find out more about his take on the importance of the humanities.
