The AS Spring 2021 election at UCSB is underway, which means Associated Students candidates are up for election and many UCSB organizations are up for reaffirmation. The voting period is currently set to close on Thursday, April 21 at 4:00 PM, but if a 20% voting threshold is not reached, the Election Board has voted to extend the election until Monday of next week to push out the vote. The voting threshold is currently at 15% as of Wednesday, April 21. KCSB’s Ashley Rusch sits down with AS Elections Board Vice Chair Wessal Esber and AS Elections Board Chair Andrew Yan to discuss the importance of voting in this year’s election and what reaffirmation means.
KCSB-FM is up for reaffirmation this year. We are a college and community radio station located on UCSB’s campus, directly under Storke Tower. KCSB trains students and community volunteers in broadcasting every quarter. As a student-led campus radio, we are proud to employ 18 student staff members who learn a range of broadcasting skills.
