We turn to Burkina Faso, where conflict between Islamic extremists groups linked to Al-Qaeda in the Sahel and the country’s military government has been ongoing since 2019. These conflicts have displaced 2.8 million people in the Sahel region, with 2.1 million of those people being in Burkina Faso.
