Dr. Kenneth Waltz, Senior Research Scholar at the Arnold A. Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies, talks about his life and career with Dr. James Fearon, Professor of Political Science at Stanford University and editorial committee member of the Annual Review of Political Science. Dr. Waltz discusses his childhood in Ann Arbor, Michigan; his service in the military, which took him to Japan during World War II and then Korea; and how he developed his ideas on American foreign policy, nuclear weapons policy, and polarity.
