Is the system of checks and balances to avoid abuse of power of any of the three branches of the U.S. government entirely broken? The recent abuse of Congress by Trump devotee Cory Lewandowski in his combative and disrespectful appearance before the House Judiciary Committee is one example. The other, the breaking news that Trump made a promise to a foreign leader that so alarmed a member of the intelligence community that it was reported and dubbed a matter of urgent concern. What can be done as Trump continues to thumb his nose at the established checks and balances?
