Description

Laura Carlsen fills us in on the growing protests in Brazil the largest economy in Latin America.

And on our weekly roundtable, the US proposes Afghan peace talks with the Taliban and the Taliban presses for release of their senior operatives being held in Guantanamo.

Neither governments nor protesters were welcoming to President Obama at the recent G8 Summit as the economic agenda was overshadowed by the conflict in Syria.

And the Summit ended without a call for regime change in Syria. What does this mean for EU and stateside support for the administration’s proposals to arm the rebels and to consider establishing a no fly zone over Syria? And in Congress some are demanding a Congressional vote on US involvement in Syria.

And the President has dropped in the polls, the House Republicans move to kill the immigration reform bill, and the scramble by the White House to gain control of the domestic agenda.

Panelists are: Jackie Goldberg; Tom Hayden; Dr. Gerald Horne.
