This set was intended to reflect and celebrate the nostalgia of where we’ve been, the pain of where we are at the present moment, and the optimism of the future we experience unfolding everyday; in a way that feels sexy, fun, positive, and forward-moving. Filled with affirmations of love for yourself and others. Fueled by an undercurrent of disco and tech for a modern counterculture. A disco space opera, if you will! Narrated by a black queer he/they.
I also really wanted to challenge myself with this one. Continue to define my sound and create audio experiences that feel cinematically visual - no matter the genre or initial creative direction. Pure inspiration. What I got in return is probably my favorite set thus far in my seven month journey (…until the next one 😂).
My hope is, as you listen, a deep feeling of pride in yourself and your own unique story surges throughout your body. If it doesn’t, that’s okay too! Just know I’m proud of you for making it this far.
