This Psalm speaks of the cross of Christ. It is littered with prophetic allusions pointing us to the suffering of Jesus. This Psalm was presumably on Jesus heart as he journeyed through Good Friday, His strength to endure to agonies of calvary. Today let Psalm 22 be your source of strength. It speaks a word to those struggling, those feeling abandoned and far from God. Our hope rests in the fact that because Jesus was forsaken, we never will be. God sees our suffering and He cares. He knows we are but dust and yet He sent His son to rescue us. We will be vindicated but only because Jesus is a saviour who saves to the upmost!
