The bible teaches us that we all desire glory and that we seek it in different ways. The Babylonians are a sobering example of how this pride can be both fleeting and destructive. The promise held out to us in Habakkuk 2, is that one day the knowledge of God’s glory will fill the earth. Like Habakkuk, if we are captivated by, and start living for, His glory, we will become the humble, joyful, servant-hearted people we were made to be. It’s the only way!
