In this passage we see the glorious truth that Jesus has defeated death and is raised to new life. The tomb is empty. Jesus is alive. It really happened. And because it happened it changes everything. Our eternal future is secure, and our lives now can be transformed too. To live with the knowledge that a better day is coming, gives us great strength to persevere through all the trials we currently face. Trusting in the promise that “Everything sad is going to come untrue and it will somehow be greater for having once been broken and lost” Tolkien.
