Eternally Young (c) S W Schloegl
performed by 'The Williams Sisters' Sally & Lou
produced and played by John Ertler
This is one of my first efforts as a young song writer- I dreamed about my husbands father and felt moved to write about it....my sister Louise Bruce, and I had a lot of fun recording these songs with John ,our talented producer- hope you enjoy it
Lyrics
Verse 1 I see your dead father
gazing at me
from a gold framed, black and white photo
so handsome and self assured
he could have been a movie star
he'll never grow old
he'll be eternally young
Verse 2 I see your poor mother
living in a dream world
belonging to your Daddy
She never remarried
it's like she's waiting
just waiting for him to return
She's gettin' old now
and he's eternally young
Bridge why do you feel you must
live his life out for him
he's long dead
so why don't you bury him?
it's not fair
it's not fair to you
it's not fair to me
Verse 3 I see your dead father
In my dreams at night
he's looking so helpless and guilty
he wants you to loosen your grip now
and let him die, let him die young
coz you've got the chance to grow old....
but he's eternally young
so sad, so sad
so sad for you
so sad for your mother
