Paradigm Shift cancelled by 4ZZZ management
The show broadcast today on 4ZZZ is not the Paradigm Shift (4ZZZ FM 102.1 Fridays at Noon).
Without one word of explanation to its listeners, one of the longest running independent current affairs program on Zed has been cancelled by management.

Why?
This has a direct effect on the capacity of people to resist oppression and to build a sustainable future – Paradigm Shift has canvassed these struggles on 4ZZZ since 2009. All we sought was dialogue with people about their struggles – frontline action on coal, black lives matter, women’s resistance against poverty and violence, support for workers going out on strike, and organising the unemployed.
Neither 4ZZZ management nor its board own our content.
We do, the people who slaved for years to bring an independent voice to Brisbane’s airwaves.
This is a political act by management limiting the right to organise and is at odds with Zed culture.
Also I note that Paradigm Shift’s Announcers Amrap Pages from 26 Feb 2021 till 26 March 2021 have been removed. Management has refused to given any reason for this.
These amrap pages include the following Paradigm Shift reports:
1. International Working Women’s Day including a long form interview with Sian from Feminist Action and Qld Anti-Poverty Network. – 5 March 2021.
2. Lining up ducks on Straddie – which includes an interview with Mark Jones, traditional owner at the truth embassy on Straddie. – 19 March 2021
All the speeches and interviews in these reports met the CBAA broadcasting guidelines which permit the broadcast of factual material and honestly held opinion.
I warned listeners that the show would contain material that some may find confronting. At the end of the broadcast with the help of members of staff I gave the following support information for Transgender people:
