Description

Several months ago, we did something of a social experiment - a two part photo series titled "Naked Faces."

For the first part of the series, Black and White, we invited about a dozen women to strip down to their bare faces - no makeup allowed, hair had to be slicked back or tied up, and no distracting clothing in the way to show any kind of self expression.

The second part of the series, In Full Color, was meant to make the women feel equally vulnerable from the vantage point of self-expression. For this portion of the project, we asked the same group of women to make their own costumes, hair, and makeup - it could be whatever they wanted.

After the photoshoot, we asked the women to share about the experience for our blog. A lot of conversations unfolded about identity, faith, self-esteem, and self expression. If this discussion opens up new thoughts for you, we'd love to hear from you. Write in to us at admin@thesoundandthesplendor.com.
