Restaurant success is fleeting and fickle. There I said it! Even with the right approach, success is far from guaranteed.
I get it. Everyday you put your heart and soul into your business. You get up early, open your doors and get home late. You work weekends and sacrifice holidays. You truly care about your staff and your customer, but sometimes the thousand details and the unexpected get in the way, and there never seems to be enough time to make it all happen.
But, you’re in this business because of passion, and despite the challenges, good enough is Not good enough. You don’t want to just succeed, you want to build a lasting legacy.
I’ve since sold my restaurants and it was a bit of a blast from the past to recently read about it in a highly acclaimed magazine, and to once again walk in the door and be a customer after four years had passed.
