A born and raised Portlander, Tom Burns is a 4th generation Northwest entrepreneur. Sent to Oregon State University to study metallurgical engineering, he instead came out a yogi into the early 70’s with a desire to turn his new found natural lifestyle into a symbiotic business venture. He along with his fellow yogis in Eugene started and built a cereal and a tea business that grew up in the beginnings of the organic foods industry. As a founding partner and the former CEO, he lead both companies to become leaders in this fast growth industry where Yogi Tea remains the No. 1 tea brand. He has moved on to new ventures and now this new industry as CEO of PDX Partners, Inc. Tom recently joined our host Shango Los to discuss how cannabis entrepreneurs are in a unique position to change the world, what unique challenges they face, and how positive energy can fuel entrepreneurship.
