SHAPE SHFTR It is a ten minute piece consisting of five shapes:
(PERI), the mystical creature
(DERVISH), the spiritual seeker
(NPC), the non-player character
(WOMAN). me
(INFORMANT), the shadowy figure hiding between knowledge and betrayal
I wrote this work in a creative frenzy of five days, using only a single Ableton project, simply going on and on, staying in the flow of now, not worrying about what should come next. The whole piece simply unfolded organically, I wrote the lyrics while coming up with the vocal lines, most of it are first take recordings. I wanted the piece to be raw, powerful, angry, vulnerable, honest. A way of direct expression and connectivity to inspiration, without having a clue where ideas come from.
