Description

Problems never go away but neither does God’s grace.

Hebrews 4:15-16
This High Priest (Jesus) of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

John 11
(v. 5-6) So although Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, he stayed where he was for the next two days. Finally, he said to his disciples, “Let’s go back to Judea.”

(v. 43-44) Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in grave clothes, his face wrapped in a head cloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!”

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.

1. Believers feel disappointment
2. Believers experience loss
3. Believers have problems

Discussion Questions

2. Can you share an example of a time you felt disappointed by God?

3. Are you currently experiencing any of the 3 struggles in John 11 (disappointment, loss, problems)? How can your group pray for you?
