Big Idea: Marriage works when a husband and wife work together
Ephesians 5:31-33
“As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”
Husbands set the standard
Wives set the tone
Discussion Questions:
1. Give an example of something outrageous or out of character that you did when you were dating because you were in love.
2. (Wives) tell your spouse the last thing they did that caused you to respect them more. (Husbands) Tell your spouse the last time they did something that made you feel like they respected you.
3. (Husbands) Tell your spouse something they say or do that makes you feel disrespected? (Wives) Tell your spouse something they do that causes you to respect them less.
