Belief in God and miracles makes you spiritual, but belief in Jesus saves you.
John 2:23-25
Because of the miraculous signs Jesus did in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration, many began to trust in him. But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew human nature. No one needed to tell him what mankind is really like.
John 3:1-3
There was a man named Nicodemus, a Jewish religious leader who was a Pharisee. After dark one evening, he came to speak with Jesus. “Rabbi,” he said, “we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you.” Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
Ezekiel 36:26-27
And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.

1. Would you consider yourself a spiritual person before you met Jesus? Did you believe in God or a higher power, and pray for miracles or help?
2. Being saved gives you a new “tender and responsive” heart. Do you know anyone who was hard-hearted before Jesus, but became a new person after being saved?
3. Can you tell of a time recently when your heart “responded” to God? (compassion, emotion, prayer, generosity, etc.)
