The story behind this audio piece: I began with an idea about a parallel universe in the 1960s where an alternative John Lennon isn't really much good as a singer or a songwriter but, because of his psychic link to the John Lennon in this world, he has a feeling that he ought to be a rock and roll poet. He has similar childhood experiences to the John Lennon of this world but a great difficulty in expressing what he feels about life.
I recorded the song in one take, improvising the (terrible) lyrics along with the (noisy bad) guitar playing and the result was a cringe-worthy embarrassment.
Ever since then I've felt a desire to somehow "fix" this awful recording and I've tried various methods to do so. This has led me on a journey through a bizarre audio landscape filled with twisted distorted figurines of John Lennon, George Martin and Jeff Lynne. I hope you enjoy the nightmare dream.
