Yes, it was the mass adoption of the birth control pill and it was a SCOTUS decision that for the first time in US history declared that saying a prayer in public schools was against the law.  This was the dangerous prayer that Steve Engel and his fellow leftists got the court to declare illegal:  “Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our country.”
