I put together three generative parts for this in Reason - using Grain, Europa & AudioDamage Phosphor. I then moved over the first take of this to Ableton and did some processing there - some dirt, some echo, a touch of reverb.

Kyorai was a Japanese haiku poet who first trained as a martial artist before he started writing and became one of Basho’s first disciples.
This is one of Kyorai's most famous poem, and one that Natsume Sōseki used as an example of great haiku poetry when teaching at a high school in Kumamoto.
