The Interstate 55 project was born of a friendship between two young French and American students, Alex and Chris, at a warehouse party on the south side of Chicago in 1995. Press correspondents for Coda and Trax Magazine in Paris and Chicago for 3 years, the two boys helped promote the Midwestern sound in Europe, interviewing some of Chicago's biggest legends. The duo also helped book as many Chicago DJs on the Paris scene for public and private parties, and several bookings on major Paris radio stations. 25 years after the best parties, Interstate 55 is back mixing to promote the underground again on SoundCloud since last year, with "the Lake Shore Drive series", and several invitations on the best radio shows. This new set, mixed by Alex for House Saladcast, attempts to recapture the energy of the old mix tapes with a wide variety of tracks, often recent, but sometimes much older. In a few days' time, Alex and Chris meet again in Chicago. The opportunity to relaunch the Interstate 55 project exactly as it was 25 years ago, promote the underground sound and prepare new musical productions on a new dedicated label.
